More Damning Revelations about "US" Amb. Llorens

In a television interview of Honduran President Roberto Micheletti on Frente a Frente today, President Micheletti reported about four lengthy meetings held at US Ambassador Hugo Llorens' residence in the days before June 28, 2009. Micheletti was in the first three meetings along with former President Zelaya, Minister Patricia Rodas, Minister Enrique Flores Lanza, Hugo Llorens, Llorens' assistant Simons, and three other Liberal Party members.

In the first meeting, Patricia Rodas spoke for one hour and 25 minutes and in her dissertation she reminded Llorens that "all the coups have occurred in this house [referring to the US Embassy]." Micheletti said that Llorens said nothing because he was the mediator. Zelaya and his Ministers were trying to convince Llorens to agree to the "survey" while the others, along with a "ton" of other people, were trying to get Zelaya to not perform this illegal act which would be effectively be a golpe de estado [coup d'etat].
Aside: A video clip of US Ambassador Llorens appeared in a cuarta urna commercial on the Honduran state-run television station at least hourly in the week before the vote was to occur. It could be that that his comment was taken out of context without Llorens' permission, but the commercial definitely gave the impression that the US government supported the election − even though it had been declared illegal by the Honduran Supreme Court.

Micheletti did not attend the fourth meeting but the others were able to obtain a document in which Zelaya agreed not to mention a constitutional assembly but to call it something else. However, in the next meeting, Zelaya backtracked and said it had to be a constitutional assembly. On Thursday, June 25, Llorens called Micheletti to tell him to think about what they would do because the US would not recognize the destitution of Zelaya.

Mel Zelaya was on his state-run television channel most of the day and night on Thursday and Friday. At one point he made a joke about the arrest, laughing and saying, "They know where I am. Where are they? They are afraid."

On Saturday, June 27, Micheletti called Llorens to tell him to talk to Mel to get him to stop. He said "You [Llorens] have heard all the discussions and negotiations. Talk to him [Zelaya] so that he doesn't insist on the constitutional assembly which is illegal, unconstitutional, and will cause problems in the future." Llorens promised that he would. Micheletti doesn't know if Llorens ever talked to Zelaya or not.

On Saturday evening, Hugo Llorens attended a function at the presidential palace. Someone who attended said that Llorens very strangely rushed out the moment the formalities were over without talking to anyone.]Arturo Corrales also went to the Casa Presidential on Saturday afternoon and stayed until 3:00 a.m., trying to talk Zelaya out of going forward with his plans − to no avail.

Late Saturday night on June 27, the Presidential Decree was published in La Gaceta making the poll official. Though it was back dated to May 26, by delaying publishing until late Saturday night, he had hoped that the other branches of government would not be aware until Monday when it would be too late to do anything to prevent the public vote on Sunday.

Additionally, La Gaceta itself was backdated to June 25. After Zelaya was removed on Sunday morning, Ambassador Llorens called Micheletti to tell him that they should have let Zelaya have the "poll", that nothing would have happened.

He condemned the decision of the Honduran authorities and threatened to promote sanctions against the current government.

This despite the fact that early in the month, Llorens declared, regarding Zelaya's planned referendum, that "One can’t violate the constitution to create another constitution, because this would be like living under the law of the jungle."

US Amb. Llorens Betrays America, Talks Falter

Hugo Llorens is stridently and viciously doing everything in his power to bring the socialist tyrant, Mel Zelaya, back to power:

As I have noted before, by denouncing his perfidy, Llorens is a cowardly thug, a rogue ambassador who takes his marching orders from Hugo Chavez and Raul Castro.

In the repugnant & nefarious tradition of Benedict Arnold, Alger Hiss, Aldrich Ames, Robert Hanssen and Ana Belen Montes, Llorens is a scumbag who is betraying the United States of America by engaging in vile and inimical actions against the national security interests of the Republic.

J'Accuse Hugo Llorens

My open letter to the US Ambassador in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in light of his squalid campaign to have Dr. Enrique Ortez Colindres ousted from his numerous cabinet positions in Honduras:
Ambassador Hugo Llorens
Embajada de los Estados Unidos de América
Avenida La Paz
Tegucigalpa M.D.C.
Honduras

Dear Mr. Ambassador:

My name is Carlos Echevarria, an American citizen, born and raised in Miami, Florida, with longstanding commercial and personal interests in Honduras. It is with great dismay and a heavy heart that I write to you, in reference to the dual resignation of the Honduran Foreign Minister & latter Justice Minister, Enrique Ortez Colindres.

I have known Dr. Ortez Colindres for many years and he is dear friend of my family. He is a man of honor, decency and true patriotism. Sometimes his passion and zeal for the freedom of his country overtakes him. However, he is a staunch anti-communist and faithful friend of the United States of America.

You, Sir, on the other have engendered a faux crisis and misrepresented some remarks he made regarding President Barack Obama, prior to his investiture as Foreign Minister. It is abundantly clear that your efforts are an attempt to malign and enfeeble the constitutional government of President Roberto Micheletti, which took power upon the attempted putsch by the socialist thug, Jose Manuel Zelaya Rosales.

With all due respect, Mr. Ambassador, it is fascinating to me that you feigned outrage over one remark by Dr. Ortez Colindres but you stood idly by for months as Mel Zelaya and Patricia Rodas engaged in the most scurrilous rhetoric and corresponding activities against the United States and her interests.

I would propound to you, Sir, that at your core you are not only a sympathizer of ex-President Zelaya but, moreover, an apologist of his copious transgressions of the Honduran constitution.

It is bad enough that you are perpetuating the administration’s misguided policies in Honduras, worse still you are for all intents and purposes taking your cue and marching orders from Hugo Chavez & Raul Castro.

What a sad commentary on the state of the world and upon our august constitutional republic that the United States, the repository and purveyor of liberty in the world, is attempting to impose tyranny and oppression in Honduras, by re-instating a dictator.

Ambassador Llorens have you no shame? Have you no honor? Have you no sense of decency, Sir?

If you did, you would resign your post forthwith!

Regards,

Carlos Echevarria
Miami, Florida

Ortez Colindres Resigns as Justice Minister

Ortez Colindres resigns his 2nd post, due to pressure from US Amb. & Embassy:

He, further, reveals a nefarious plan that was going to be undertaken by the US Embassy to permit OAS Chief Insulza to enter the Central American country in a manner that would violate the nation's sovereignty.

I have written about Ortez Colindres' initial resignation over an engendered scandal by the US Ambassador, Hugo Llorens here and his ultimate transfer to the Ministry of Justice here.

Now a clairvoyant voice, a man of immense stature has been completely eliminated from the Honduran government and we can thank Hugo Llorens, pictured below, for this horrendous turn of events.

Honduran FM Ousted due to Obama Envoy

Dr. Enrique Ortez Colindres was accused by the US Ambassador, Hugo Llorens, of "racism" for pejorative remarks he made about Barack Obama, prior to him becoming Foreign Minister. This feigned outrage by Llorens led to Ortez Colindres being removed and assigned as Minister of Justice.

Via Hondudiario:

I will be addressing this matter of Hugo Llorens in a future post, as I am preparing a letter, in order to denounce and expose him for what he truly is...the de facto ambassador of Hugo Chavez and Raul Castro in Tegucigalpa!

Honduran Amb. to US Supports Micheletti

Honduran Foreign Minister, Enrique Ortez Colindres
